Effects of nitrogen addition and seasonal change on arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi community diversity in a poplar plantation

چکیده

Arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi play a crucial role in carbon (C), nitrogen (N), and phosphorous (P) biogeochemical cycling. Therefore, it is essential to determine the seasonal responses of AM fungal community N addition understanding better ecological processes against background intensified deposition. Based on an ongoing field simulation experiment with five levels (0, 5, 10, 15, 30 gN·m −2 ·a −1 ) 5-year-old poplar plantation at Dongtai Forest Farm Yancheng, Jiangsu province, eastern China, soil physicochemical properties, root colonization rate, rhizosphere diversity composition four seasons (summer, autumn, winter, spring) were investigated. Meanwhile, relationships between characteristics environmental factors analyzed. High-throughput sequencing showed that dominant genera Glomus (average relative abundance 87.52%), Diversispora (9.62%), Acaulospora (1.85%). The significantly increased rate spring. (Chao Shannon indexes) was primarily affected by change rather than addition, summer lower other three seasons. Redundancy analysis temperature, available P, total pH structure community. It can be concluded influenced whereas had notable effect diversity. Although greatly composition, exerted more substantial addition. These results will improve our underground ecosystems.

Effects of Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi on Growth and Nutrient Uptake of Apple Rootstocks in Calcareous Soil

The effects of three Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi (AMF) species (Glomus versiforme, Claroideoglomus etunicatum and Rhizophagus intraradices) were studied on the growth parameters and nutrient uptake of three apple rootstocks (M.9, M.7 and MM.106). The soil medium contained a high level of calcium carbonate (38.65%). The results showed that AMF inoculation could increase almost all growth parame...

Diversity of Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi and Their Roles in Ecosystems

Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) have mutualistic relationships with more than 80% of terrestrial plant species. This symbiotic relationship is ancient and would have had important roles in establishment of plants on land. Despite their abundance and wide range of relationship with plant species, AMF have shown low species diversity. However, molecular studies have suggested that diversity of...

Effect of biochar on nitrogen retention in soil under corn plant inoculated with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi

Maintaining the levels of nitrogen in agricultural fields to ensure crop yield performance is challenging due to the complex dynamics of nitrogen transformation in soil. Nitrogen is mainly taken up by plant roots in the form of nitrate, but it is considered as an environmental pollutant that threatens human and animal health. Therefore, it is necessary to use adsorbent compounds to retain nitra...

Fungi in the future: interannual variation and effects of atmospheric change on arbuscular mycorrhizal fungal communities

Understanding the natural dynamics of arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi and their response to global environmental change is essential for the prediction of future plant growth and ecosystem functions. We investigated the long-term temporal dynamics and effect of elevated atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2 ) and ozone (O3 ) concentrations on AM fungal communities. Molecular methods were used to ch...

Simulated nitrogen deposition affects community structure of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi in northern hardwood forests.

Our previous investigation found elevated nitrogen deposition caused declines in abundance of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) associated with forest trees, but little is known about how nitrogen affects the AMF community composition and structure within forest ecosystems. We hypothesized that N deposition would lead to significant changes in the AMF community structure. We studied the divers...
